Biography

South American Roots outfit MADRE MONTE finds inspiration in the myths, folklore and music of Colombia, with a focus on taking these ideas and making art that is contemporary and that expands the Latin-Australian musical and mythical connection.
A tight rhythm section, Afro-Colombian progressions, skankin’ guitars, lyrics in English and Spanish, and sweet tropical vibes intertwine to create what is now one of the most sought-after world music acts in Australia.
Madre Monte finds inspiration in the myths, folklore and music of Colombia, with a focus on taking these ideas and making something that is contemporary and representative of their new home, Australia. The band is one of the leading representatives of Latino-Australian music.
The band has different layouts. From the smooth and suave tropical trio set up, to the 12 piece explosive orchestra allowing flexibility to perform for a wide array of events and audiences.
Madre Monte recently launched their debut album "El Man Caiman" after teaming up with world-renowned act THE CAT EMPIRE for an Australian tour that had them play in front of more than 30,000 people. Since then, the band has continued touring around Australia with huge success.
