Biography

Fresh off the back of supporting Mercury Rev, the last two years has seen Moon Landing build a reputation as one of the most exciting acts in the Northern Ireland music scene! Evolving from frontman Jake McCrea's solo project to a full band, 2023 saw Moon Landing crowned champion of Chordblossom’s Kickstart ‘23 award, before being nominated for the Joe Cassidy Chrysalis Award at NI Music Prize! 2024 began with Moon Landing being tipped as one to watch for the year by Hot Press Magazine as well as playing a sold out debut headline show in Belfast’s Ulster Sports Club! This has been followed up by another sold out show with ‘Regard Belfast’ and appearances at Stendhal Festival and Greenbelt festival as well as a headline performance in Belfast’s famous Mandela Hall. Late 2024 has seen Moon Landing selected to be on the prestigious 'Scratch My Progress' scheme run by Oh Yeah Music Centre, being selected for the ‘Emerging Talented Competition’ slot at Output Belfast 2024, as well as a huge slot supporting Mercury Rev! “Loved by the likes of Duke Special and Jimmy Eat World, and lauded by BBC Introducing, the project fuses indie, chamber-pop and string-swept soundscapes, creating arresting music that gives you goosebumps. Calling to mind the likes of Spiritualized, Moon Landing's gorgeous and grandiose debut EP, Blink Once And Miss The World Go By, cemented him as one of the North's most exciting new stars” - Hot Press Magazine
