With a 40 pieces catalog, from solo instrument to the orchestra and one modern lyric opera, Piergiorgio Ratti, born in 1991, is an active and evolving composer. He graduated in oboe at Como Conservatory with maestro Adriano Mondini. He began composing as a self-taught in 2007, then he specialized with maestro Antonio Eros Negri and took a masterclass with maestro Andrea Portera. In 2011 he founded the Antonio Vivaldi Orchestra with the conductor Lorenzo Passerini: he became artistic director and composer in residence. Among the many concert halls that hosted him, we mention: the sala Verdi of the Milan Conservatory (Season “Serate Musicali”), the Teatro Sociale in Como, the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona (Season of Accademia Filarmonica in Verona), the Carnegie Hall in New York and the Solitär in Salzburg. They performed him: Giampaolo Pretto, Francesco Manara, Giuliano Sommerhalder, the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra, the CamerataVienna Orchestra, the Mexican State Orchestra, the Bari Symphonic Orchestra and the chamber musicians of RAI National Symphony Orchestra. In 2017/2018 he was Michael Nyman’s musical assistant. He graduated in Physics with full honours at the University of Milan.
