ANKST is a Gothic Rock band that originated in South Africa in the early to mid 2000s. The ANKST sound blends Goth, Darkwave, Hard Rock, and Synthpop, held together by the sardonic lyrics and haunting voice of its founder, Raymond John Ross, who has since moved to New Zealand and founded the Synthpop/Futurepop project Sine Division.
