Fletch is Henrik Nielsen which in his mid teens fell in love with the sound of electronic music- before that he loved funk, soul and disco. Human League, Kraftwerk, Earth Wind and Fire where among the favourites. He bought an Atari and a Korg Drum machine + a few synths. His first track was released on the danish Coma Records (Mega Records) with Kenneth Bager in front. It was a jungle track. He got signed to Smart Records / Spark Communications by Mickey Billberg aka. TBM 1, that released his double a side “Space” and “The Party” that became underground dance hits in Ibiza and London. Both where picked up by Nick Halkes (XL_Recordings, Incentive etc.) who was running Positiva Records in the UK (EMI) Many collaborations came out of that with artists like Jeremy Sylvester and Copyright’s Gavin Mills. Henrik started his own label in 1997 with his old pal Jan Mathiasen- it was called Bim Bam Recordings. They found the young producers Noir, Beatchuggers, Hampenberg, Jesper Sidelmann, Leif Berg Jensen and many others. This biggest hit featured Eric Clapton “How Many Times” with Beatchuggers (Michael Linde). Recently Henrik started his own small label called Cheetah Play- which he would like to be an electronic playground for artists.
