A truly unique modern fusion world music experience, a journey through the Balkans, combining soul, passion and tradition where variety of landscapes and cultures meet through music and create a common, single language based on the similarities between people. Balkan Union is an exquisite group of artists sharing the same passion, incorporating tradition in the 21st century, adding new contemporary elements while retianing it's originality; avoiding frustration for the older audience of traditional music while, at the same time, engaging a new one. Balkan Union was formed by Csaba Toth Bagi, guitarist and singer, who is known for his powerful voice and his soulful and technically brilliant guitar playing. His rootsy blues, jazz style is greatly influenced by his Balkan upbringing, his Hungarian musical education and his years touring internationally with renowned guitarist Al Di Meola. In 2012 Balkan Union (Csaba Toth Bagi on guitar and vocal, László Máthé on bass, Ákos Kertész on drums) has released “Aved Ivenda” of original compositions combining traditional Macedonian, Serbian and Hungarian melodies and rhythms into a jazz structure featuring Al Di Meola, than the second album in 2017 featuring Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Fausto Beccalossi, Rhani Krija, Tina Guo, Ismail Lumanovski, Christiane Karam and more. Balkan Union is currently working on a brand new album with a fresh band lineup featuring Branka Básits and Dávid Eredics which will be released in the spring of 2023.
