Mr. Phelps was raised in Watts, California. He started making music at the age of 14. Making beats was the passion that kept his mind above his circumstances. At the age of 18, Mr. Phelps moved to Phoenix, Arizona and continued to face many trials. These trials sparked his creativity and he expressed them through his music. During this time, he noticed he also had the gift of expressing a story in song form. This developed into what will be his first album, The Vicious Cycle.
