Hailing from Stockton, California, A. Payne (Nee' Tanya Chamberlain Boyden) born November 1989, had humble beginnings at 3rd Missionary Baptist Church Choir (an alto register), Bear Creek High School Choir and various local talent shows; She grew up on 70s, 80s and 90s R&B and Jazz via her musically inclined parents & siblings. Graduating high school in 2007, she began recording music in 2012 as a member of Snatch'N Gwap with her catchy hooks and delivery. Residing in Sacramento for 5 years (2013-2018), she developed her stage performance at local venues and soon became a great presence. She dropped her first solo EP "11/6 The EP" (2016) and her second EP "P*rn for Potheads" (2018) via SoundCloud granting her placement at Golden One Arena with her leading single "Familiar (Déja Vu)" which was a house/EDM inspired record. Her genre is a mixture of traditional R&B, alternative, jazz, EDM & House music. She dropped her 3rd 6-Track Self Released EP "Hammer Skate" (2023) and has had various collaborative projects throughout the 2010's-20s. A. Payne is a lover of story telling and it shows through her creativity being that English and literature were her strongest subjects in school.
