thegoodnews. is a cartoon crew of sorts, producing music, art, podcasts & animated content. Founded by partners Del The Funky Homosapien, producer CTZN, rapper Po3 and illustrator Pete Cosmos after first linking , the group would grow to include bass & fx guru Juan Alderete & guitarist Taka Tozawa (both members of the touring lineup for legendary hip hop band Deltron 3030). UK favorite Jam Baxter and California rapper Gee. also appeared on the groups debut EP ‘The Doors’. In 2023 thegoodnews. resurfaced with an Oakland residency at indie venue The Golden Bull, curating a monthly art & music event with an array of friends and special guests appearing. With the release of an instrumental version of their track “The Good News”, the group teased new music on the horizon and previewed new tracks live for those in attendance in Oakland. In spring 2024, thegoodnews held further editions of their “FUNKTION” and “Beat Suite” events in Oakland and in summer the group reconvened to begin releasing new music, powering up their podcast and gearing up for the release of their first proper full length as a group.
