Biography

Jacob Jezioro began studying music more seriously at age fourteen. His father an established Nashville bassist, guitarist and producer was his first inspiration. Other early teachers included Roger Spencer and Joel Reist. Jacob later attended Indiana University, where his mentors were Jeremy Allen and Kurt Muroki. Encouraged by his combo director, Walter Smith III, Jezioro premiered original works in Austria and performed with Kurt Rosenwinkel. From 2018-19, Jacob was enrolled at Berklee Global Jazz Institute in Boston, where he and nineteen others from around the world received regular forums from artists-in-residence including Joe Lovano, Terri Lyne Carrington, Dave Liebman, Danilo Perez, Luciana Souza, Ben Street and John Patitucci. After completing his masters degree, Jezioro performed with Danilo Perez in Panama and Costa Rica, directed an ensemble of high school jazz musicians at the Newport Jazz Festival, Panama Jazz Festival and FiJazz Costa Rica. Since his return to Nashville, Jacob has performed live with his own band and records and performs regularly with Pat Coil. Coil’s trio has recorded with guest artists such as vocalist Jaimee Paul and saxophonist Joel Frahm. Jacob has premiered original work as a member of the Nashville Composer Collective, and he has begun releasing his own productions through his record company, Green Box Music.
