Biography

Senita is a South African born based krunk-soul and pop singer based in Ireland. Senita is lauded for her commanding voice and hook fuelled collaborations with Irish household names such as Daithí, Le Galaxies, Bantum and Godknows. Her largest acclaim comes from former band Shookrah and low-fi electronic duo Lakerama, having received recognition from Afropunk, Wondaland and Clash Magazine amongst others for their sophisticated soulful sounds, future-jazz influence. Senita's earlier accolades also include vinyl DJ-ing as one 1/3rd of Cork DJ & Booking collective 'The Good Foot' and supporting Peanut Butter Wolf, Madison McFerrin and MNDSGN. Growing up as a first generation immigrant in Ireland, she's expanded her public interests to podcasting and exploring intersectional issues in Ireland, which airs on Dublin Digital Radio on bi-monthtly basis. Not shy of collective based work, Senita is also part of multi-disciplinary creatives X Collective and Gxrlcode. Senita's recent focus has been a collaborative album with her illustrious counter part Jess Kavanagh, under the guise of Sister Fenix, which is set for release in 2022.
