My musical journey began at 6 years old playing the drums & wanted to become a drummer , at age 15 is when I started playing timbales professionally for my families Latin Jazz ensemble. My home was always filled with music as my father, Teddy Panama, is an accomplished Philadelphia musician and composer. My grandparents: Ted Panamá and Elba “Candy” Panamá, were also professional musicians who founded the Latin band: Orquesta Panamá, well known throughout the region for their dance parties and engaging performances. My grandfather, a musical legend and pioneer, also proudly co-founded AMLA, the Association of Latin American Musicians and Artists in Philadelphia. My love for Latin music has always connected me to my Panamanian and Puerto Rican roots.
