Biography

Traditional accordion and bandeneon player Nini Flores was born in the Argentinean province of Corrientes in 1966, the son of bandoneon player and orchestra leader Avelino Flores. Flores began working with his father's orchestra at a very young age along with older brother Rudi Flores, who was born in Corrientes in 1961 and had developed into a fine traditional guitarist and singer. The brothers officially formed the duo Rudi & Nini Flores in 1984. They recorded Argentine: Chamamé -- Music of Paraná for ethnomusicologist Michel Plisson in 1993, and the album was subsequently released on the Ocora Radio France label in 1996. The brothers relocated to France in 2000, releasing Por Cielos Lejanos, also on the Ocora imprint, in 2003. A third album for Ocora Radio France, Chamame: Music of Corrientes, appeared in 2006. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi
