Ambrose Ruhindi Ngaruye, better known as Ambroy comes from the far South West of Uganda in the city of Mbarara where he was born and raised by his single mom. Ambroy taught himself how to rap and at the tender age of 10 by closely listening to hiphop music tapes that his mother used to carry home from work. His rhymes are expressive of street life and witty runyankore humor, drawing inspiration from Western rap flows, wordplay and melodies to curve his undeniably unique African sound. After high school, Ambroy proceeded on to college but quickly moved on to fully pursuing his musical dreams just a few months in. “I wanted to choose a path in life I wasn’t gonna regret taking no matter how tough it got. So I figured I’d focus my time learning beat making and audio production because I also didn’t want to give a hard time to producers,” he remarks. His 3rd studio release "To Party", a collaboration with PafBuoyy and Mbarara DJ duo Starcent & Red was a countrywide mainstream success, further on attracting a remix with Grammy nominated artist Eddy Kenzo. This allowed Ambroy to leverage his quickly growing audience, building up anticipation for future projects. On 26th of July 2024, he released his highly anticipated debut solo EP ENJIRI.
