Simon 16 or Simon Says (born Kenny Thomas) is a Hip Hop artist, producer and songwriter from Montreal North, Quebec. He has been active on the Montreal music scene for more than 20 years. He is known for his instrumental projects "Simon Says Go" (2017), "Nightmare On Beat Street" (2017) and "The End All, Be All" (2018). And his offcial first album intitled "The Gospel Of Simon" released on November 19th 2019. Simon 16 started his career under the stage name The Joker in 1999. He's associated to acts such as Socalled, Funk Lion, Made Men (Independent and Essem) and producer Boots (OG Hindu Kush) . He released several projects under the Joker moniker, notably "The AntiHero" in 2007, "The Vigilante EP" in 2011, The Trade Paperback 1 & 2 in 2012 and 2013 as well as "The R.A.I.D.E. Album (Return At Idealizing Dope Emceeing)" in 2013. He's also produced and wrote for artists such as Greezy and Funkish Chavez. He considers himself an "avid lover of words". Drawing inspiration from artists such as Posdnuos, Oddisee and Pharaohe Monch as well as classic authors like Edgar Allan Poe, Marc Favreau and Herman Melville. He describes his style of writing as "an absurd amalgamation of scattered brain thought process and cynical social commentary. Often reflecting on family life, the plights and issues faced by the disenfranchised and the Black experience, he taps into the often overlooked grey areas of human emotions stemming from everyday situations.
