Flautist&composer Gareth leads his own big band and small group "Gareth Lockrane's Grooveyard" has also been regularly appearing in the annual Downbeat US Critics Poll for a number of years. As a sideman,Gareth has been involved in many diverse projects - as a key member of the late great Bheki Mseleku's group during his last years from 2005 to 2008 and also with the James Taylor Quartet, Phil Robson's IMS Quintet featuring Mark Turner, as a featured soloist with Tommy Smith's Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Laurence Cottle, bands led by Dick Oatts, Quincy Jones, Nikki Iles, Tom Cawley, Jim Mullen, Miguel Gorodi, Asaf Sirkis, Michael Janisch, Christine Tobin, Michael “Patches” Stewart, Brian Charette, Michael Kiwanuka, Xantone Blacq, Kate Williams, Bokani Dyer, Heritage Orchestra, Patrick Cornelius, Sheryl Bailey, Incognito, Georgia Mancio, Nia Lynn's Bannau Trio, Hans Koller, Natalie Williams, Paul Booth, Gwilym Simcock Nonet and Big Band, Tom Richards Jazz Orchestra, The National Youth Jazz Orchestra and many more.
