Luke Faulkner is a pianist and composer from Shropshire, England. The majority of his compositions are for solo piano, reflecting his background as a Classical pianist, but more recently he has been collaborating with and writing for string players (violin, viola, and cello). His music combines Classical forms with a calmness influenced by postminimalism and acoustic film music. In particular, his inspirations include contemporary composers such as Yann Tiersen, Alexandre Desplat, Ludovico Einaudi, Ólafur Arnalds, and Max Richter. As a Classical pianist, he has recorded 15 albums and multiple EPs of works by Frédéric Chopin, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Claude Debussy amongst others which have predominantly been released by Italian label Halidon. In December 2022, three albums featuring his recordings were simultaneously in the Billboard Top 10 for Traditional Classical Albums including “Chopin: Classical Piano Masterpieces" at No .1.
