Born Cheryl Poblete in Guam and raised in Vallejo, California, C-Laydee, was introduced to the nuances of singing through her father. Throughout her childhood, C-Laydee’s father would sit with her as they studied great vocalists such as Whitney Houston, Frank Sinatra and Carlos Santana. At 7 years old, her father bought her a Yamaha Keyboard and C-Laydee began to make her own beats and craft her own songs. While in high school, C-Laydee released her first song “Slow Mo” and posted it to MySpace. This caught the attention the music producer SBFocus and this would be the beginning of their music relationship. After graduating from Hogan High School in 2007, C-Laydee began modeling and was featured in “Cars Under Ground Magazine”. During this time, she recorded the track “Holla Back” produced by SBFocus. C-Laydee began performing the song locally and it picked up by “Ozcat Radio” in Vallejo, CA. C-Laydee was billed as a top performer at the 2012 Filipino Festival in Vallejo, CA and developed a partnership with Pstgears.com. C-Laydee formed the LGBT rap group “Bay Heatz” with fellow artist Young Yayo. After her father’s passing in 2007, C-Laydee has dedicated her music career to him.
