Rossella Cosentino is an Italian singer and songwriter. Voice to her means singing, improvising, “playing” like an instrument, expressing feelings. Her music influences are jazz, pop, world music, R&B, reggae, avant-garde and the melodies that she makes are a mix between southern old roots and modern sounds of the world. She combines dialects of southern Italy with different language sounds – from English to various African languages. The sound and fluidity of the words – rather than the meaning – are most important to her. She recently released her latest album Bàia a cool crossover of jazz, pop, R&B, acid jazz, drum & bass. It is a free-standing production, supported by Indie radios in the world (Memphis, San Diego, Rochester New York, Lagos, Nigeria and Smooth Jazz magazine).
