She started in classical music at age 7 playing violin that she pursued for many years, until one day Zita's friends invited her to attend the Winter Music Conference in Miami. This is where she met UK based DJ D:Folt, who encouraged her to follow a passion that she clearly held close to her heart, and to dive into the electronic music scene. Zita learned her basics on vinyl from Brian Boncher then continued playing on other mediums. A try turned into a passion and the rest is history. Her musical influences include: Depeche Mode, old school progressive, then Steffi, Nick Warren, Ben Klock, Adam Beyer, Nicole Moudaber, to name a few, as well as the sounds of Burning Man Festival. The result is a deep tech, minimalistic sound produced by the current and forward thinking musician that you hear today, Zita Molnar. Zita established Zettabyte Records, a record label and publishing company focused on various genres of techno and minimal music and co-founded MNML:FUN, a San Francisco based techno collective. One can listen to her music on the San Francisco club scene, on 92.5 and 99.9FM in Chicago (Dance Factory Radio) and on iTunes / Spotify (Sound and Machine - the Podcast). When Zita is not performing or creating music, she likes to capture nightlife, street art, and special events via photography.
