StarSystems is an instrumental progressive rock fusion project by Scottish guitarist and producer Joseph Stevenson. Started in 2013 from 17 year old Joseph's bedroom studio, StarSystems is a whirlwind of soaring melodies, colourful chord progressions and intricate solos. Joseph has taken influence from the likes of Dream Theater, Plini & David Maxim Micic to create a unique and genre-bending cocktail of expressive, melodic guitar lines, complex rhythms and rich electronic textures- from crushing metal riffs to florid, jazz infused passages. Joseph wrote and produced 3 StarSystems EPs between 2014-2016 with the first full length album ‘Lift’ being released in 2019. StarSystems has also featured appearances from a number of artists including the likes of Dream Theater’s Jordan Rudess, Sithu Aye, Jake Howsam Lowe and Sean Ashe. In 2021, Joseph announced that he would not be releasing any more music for StarSystems, but continues his instrumental prog rock work with new solo project ‘Regressor’.
