Andy Lauth is the solo project of drummer and multi-instrumentalist Andreas Schelker. As an experienced live performer, he takes the leap from sideman to frontman as he steps up to the microphone while keeping the drum kit in reach. The name «Lauth» pays homage to his grandfather and keeps his rare surname alive. With the release of his debut EP «Listen» in May 2023, Andy Lauth presents six pop songs which still have the claim to not only be pop. Artpop with a bit of soul and a pinch of rock. Influences from his heroes, including John Mayer, Gungor, Paris Monster, Ásgeir, and James Gruntz, are evident, but his gentle vocals, complemented with a touch of autotune, carve out a unique sound all his own. From everyday self-doubt and heartbreak to spiritual journeys, Andy Lauth's lyrics are a mix of encouragement and defiance, delivered with soulful sincerity.
