Biography

Jason Songco’s musical journey began in Queens, NY in 2003 under stage name J Specimen. Starting experimental punk band Test Specimen, J quickly grew sick of genre & they delved into many sounds from hip hop to ska, metal, reggae, ect. They sold out stages with icons like The Vibrators, Patent Pending, Sex Slaves, Blanks 77 & Choking Victim / Leftöver Crack, with over 400 shows before disbanding in ‘07
Next was loveXcore electronica band “mylifewithyou” which went viral on MySpace in ‘07. They closed out mlwy in ‘08 & did a few screamo covers of rap songs which were instantly embraced by the Crunkcore scene, thus starting Dropping A Popped Locket & donning new persona, J Spizzy
Back to sold out venues, now with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Brokencyde, Jelly Roll, The Bunny The Bear & Trinidad James to name a few, DAPL was once again solidified as a noteworthy staple in now many different scenes. Songs ranging from every genre to no genre, from tearjerking emotional rollercoasters to silliness personified, DAPL has created a sound in itself by leaving the listener guessing
J briefly joined Dot Dot Curve as a vocalist in 2009, and Fhsp as a Guitarist/Producer from 2015-2018, where J started a folk punk project which dives into alcoholism, cannibalism, necrophilia and homicide through eyes of fictional serial killer Jason Ramone
J…now just going by “Six”…seems a nonstop workforce of creativity and breaking ground, there’s no telling when, if then, this ride will end
