ELSZ is a Brooklyn based harpist, singer , dancer, ritual (performance) artist, who grew up between Sri Lanka and Australia. They sculpt hypnotic worlds with word and sound to hold space for healing and to engage conversations around gender violence, trauma healing and queerness. ELSZ's work is captivating, experimental, and refined over 13 years as a producer, harpist, and artist. Their musical productions are both cinematic and soulful. They are renowned for their enigmatic collaborations with critically acclaimed international artists like Alok Vaid-Menon (US) and Liniker (Brazil) ELSZ is a survivor of abuse and their forthcoming album ‘Blue Scar’ is dedicated to survivors and victims of gender violence. ELSZ is currently recording their 4 part album with five time Grammy award-winning sound engineer, Jeremy Loucas at NYC’s oldest recording studio, Sear Sound. 'Blue Scar' will feature important voices from queer, feminist & diasporic communities to offer intimate windows into the experience of survival and healing. The raw, dulcet tones of ELSZ's voice and their evocative live shows have reached audiences worldwide in over 30 cities across 15 countries. ELSZ was included in the Daily Beasts ‘The very best of SXSW 2018’ along side the likes of Princess Nokia. Music publications such as Indie Current, The Knockturnal and Purple Sneakers have compared ELSZ' music to Kelela, Bjork, and FKA Twigs.
