Born and raised in the redwood forest of Kings Mountain, California and now rooted in Denver, Colorado, CØNTRA has developed his own organic style, highly influenced by the natural world and the large amount of international traveling he's done over the years. Ezra Arenson (CØNTRA) moved to Denver, Colorado a decade back and has fully immersed himself into arguably the richest culture of bass music in the States. With releases on DDD, DUPLOC, Wheel & Deal, Odyzey, Gravitas, Street Ritual, and more, CØNTRA’s catalog continues to expand. His sound creation is always a variety of expressions of the wide range of human emotions. He finds beauty in all types of styles and genres and tends to mold an amalgamation of ideas into his pieces. Highly sample based, he often visits his local record shop to search for the most exotic and unique sounds to incorporate into his productions. CØNTRA also supports his distinctive sound by integrating his original vocals, guitar, and violin recordings.
