Meriheini Luoto is an avant-garde violinist and composer based in Helsinki, Finland. She has released two critically acclaimed Metsänpeitto albums (lit. covered by forest) which are largely based on Finnish folklore about metsänpeitto: a belief that one can become lost in a forest to the point of being transported beyond the borders of this reality. She also plays with Akkajee and in various collaborations that bring together different artistic disciplines from dance to film and beyond.
