Valerio Sanca Duarte, a.k.a V.A.L, is a crossroad between old school hip hop and the sound from the new era of rap mixing trap sounding tracks like Stainless steel chains, slower tracks like Lay Low and also boom bap tracks like Valuable and Lit in his catalogue. V.A.L was born and raised in Rome in the small neighbourhood of San Cleto by Capt-Verdians parents; after spending 15 years in Italy’s capital, he moved to Luxembourg where he improved his English and now, he moved again in the UK near London in the university of Hertfordshire. V.A.L biggest inspirations for his lyrics and sound are mainly Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Joey Bada$$ just to name a few but his Italian rap is heavily inspired by rappers such as Salmo, Gemitaiz and Fabri Fibra. 2021 is going to be a year full of releases for V.A.L that will be very different from each other with the objective to evolve his sound and push his own boundaries. Who’s in for the ride will definitely not be disappointed.
