Biography

Winner of the 1st Prize at the Singing Competition J. Massia 2005, the 2nd Prize at the P.A. Cesti Singing Competition for Baroque Opera 2010 and the 2nd Prize at the International Competition for the Art Song Stuttgart 2010 (next to the pianist Alexander Fleischer), Catalan mezzo-soprano Anna Alàs i Jové's voice was groomed under the influence of inspiring artists such as Brigitte Fassbaender, Wolfram Rieger, Thomas Quasthoff, Thomas Hampson, Bernarda Fink, Hartmut Höll, Anneliese Fried, Mireia Pintó... The critic praises her flexible and luminous voice, a well as her genius to provide a high scenic content to Art Songs. She soon aroused the interest of the Baroque scene where she performed next to the B'Rock Orchestra, Collegium 1704, Musica Florea, La Chimera, Vespres d’Arnadí, Ensemble Daimonion, Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla, Academia 1750... at the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik, Musikfestspiele Potsdam, Davos Festival, Music Bridge Prague-Dresden, WDR 3 Concerto Discreto, Festival de Torroella de Montgrí and the Festival Castell de Peralada. Parallel to her concert activity she successfully performed many operatic roles at the Staatsoper Berlin, Staatstheater Nürnberg, Ópera de Bordeaux, Teatro Real (Madrid), Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatre Nacional (Barcelona), Palacio de la Ópera, Teatro Arriaga, Under the baton of Marc Minkowski, David Afkham, Thomas Hengelbrock, Victor Pablo Pérez, Diego Martín-Etxebarria, Vaclav Luks...
