Pirata is a charismatic rockband with musical roots in punk, world music, rock, reggae & soul. The music is often described as simple, kind and easy listened. The melodies are set already after the first listening. Pirata is an artist who likes to provoke and question the current gender roles, social relationships and social structure behaviors. Joy, light, life & energy characterizes Piratas music and being. All our songs are written from the inside out. They all address our inner life and our inner longings. Instead of focusing on the outside, what's visible, what is expected, we cover feelings, longings, desires and heartaches. Also, we like paying tributes to our heroes, to people and events that has influenced us. We believe it is important to acknowledge the past to create a better future, wheater it is a God, rocknroller or a cartoon figure.
