From 2009 to 2014 Armando Pérez took on the moniker “The Single Helix” to produce instrumental trip-hop and ethereal urban folk. Four albums were released in a four year period (Journal of an Emotional Robot 2010, Odd Czar 2011, Viajero Mundial 2012, Pillowtalk 2014). Pérez wrote, produced, and performed on all released songs at his own Belmont Electric Studios and imprint DILLIAGF Records. Critically acclaimed by indie publications and completing commercial work at EV Productions, Pérez formed ESSO Afrojam Funkbeat to explore a fuller live experience.
