Johanna Sjunnesson is a Swedish, Stockholm based cellist and music creator. Between acoustic and electronic sounds, she creates music in a neo-classical style. Based on her roots in classical music, with fragments or melodies from the past. Music from the past, inspired by the future. Electronical soundscapes and mixing of the EP Celistial are made by Mikael Lind from Reykjavik. The Icelandic band Hugar is featured, in Flow and Mornings of the World. 2019 Nordic Council Price award commissioned a piece by Johanna, that she performed with Hugar. https://youtu.be/uNyamuyweug 2020 Johanna created music for a Radio documentary about melting ices of Arctic. www.johannasjunnesson.se ——————————————- Since 1999 Johanna is a member of the cello section of Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Stockholm. As cello soloist she made her debut with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, she has performed for Polar Music Prize winners Yo-Yo Ma and Paul Simon, on Swedish Grammy Award and many other music arenas. Over the years, a longing for her own musical expression has grown. Improvising over melodies from the classical repertoire Johanna has found her own musical language. www.johannasjunnesson.se
