Tim is a former United States Army Veteran graduating with honors from the USAESOM and later returned to teach piano. He performed with many acts including the Virginia Symphony, The Harry James Big Band, Jae Sinnett Trio etc. Tim performed with the three tenors and recorded with Count Basie Big Band leader Douglas Miller. Tim also performed in two New York broadway musicals: Aida, and The Producers. Tim is currently a Nashville session keyboardist and tours with legendary rock guitarist Rick Derringer. Tim has also toured with Blake Shelton, Hank Williams Jr, Olivia Newton-John, Pam Tillis, Mark Chesnutt, Johnny Hiland, and Byron Berline. Tim can also be seen in 4 seasons of the ABC series "Nashville" as keyboardist for Luke Wheeler, Every Other Holiday as a choir pianist, and Patsy and Loretta Forever as Pianist for Loretta Lynn. Tim's original songs are also included in Jerry Seinfeld's comedians in cars getting coffee and several movies including "A Perfect Fit". Tim has 11 albums Lucky You, May I Live In Your World, Tim's Dems, Livin' Breathin' Havin' Fun, Life Worth Livin, Ivory Christmas, Russell Scarborough Presents Tim McDonald, Tim McDonald, Tim McDonald II. Tim just release a new Bluegrass album called Highland County featuring the late Byron Berline and Vince Gill. A 10th record suitably called "10" will be released on Nov. 12, 2021.
