✦:*:⋇ ✦⋆† Though hailed as a 'Master of Texture', Martin Hartgen's solo catalog as Burning God Little still goes largely unnoticed by the mainstream. Seen as a somewhat elusive figure, the Tromsø-born, Oslo-based producer has despite of this worked with widely recognized artists like Jonas V, John Olav Nilsen and Bendik. The blueprint for Hartgen's electronic dream pop is drawn from his early years as a hip-hop producer, turning samples inside out and forging them into new instruments. The influence of hip-hop is evident in "Du e alltid hjemme", the third and best album from Burning God Little, where the raw, psychotic echoes of 90s Memphis rap are a major inspiration. Hartgen’s production is at its most visceral, charged with an electric energy that crackles and pulses through the body. Especially the title track reminds one of the psychedelic techno from the legendary German label Chain Reaction. Simply put: Burning God Little is a true anomaly in the Norwegian underground scene.
