Da Journalist is an American rapper and songwriter from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Growing up in a broken home on Milwaukee's Southside, Da Journalist had little to no guidance in his formative years, so he joined the US Navy to better his life. Always retaining love for his community, he came home and went to college at UW-Milwaukee to become a journalist in order to bring awareness to the issues affecting so many in the city. During his undergraduate studies, Da Journalist held internships with multiple Milwaukee media outlets. Having grown up listening to Hip Hop, he decided to try his hand at making music to work towards his vision of helping bring the change and progress the city needs. As a member of the vast independent Hip Hop community, Da Journalist has collaborated with fellow Milwaukee artists, including Genesis Renji, Mike Regal, Macho Mil, Nick Grace and Blitz'em.
