DeShawn Jenkins (They/Them) is a multi-disciplinary artist living in New York, by way of Cleveland, OH. Coming from a musically inclined family, they have always had a deep connection to music and rhythmic expression. Their formative years' were spent training in Vocal Music and Theater at Cleveland School of the Arts, Columbia College Chicago and Berklee College of Music. After some time spent in Tokyo, Japan, DeShawn returned to New York full time in 2018 and has been writing and creating opportunities building the foundation for their own production company “DeShawn Dreams Entertainment'' consisting of original theatrical works, visual art, podcasts, music and live performance productions. In early 2024, DeShawn officially returned to making music full time with the release of their EP and visual “Now, Wait Just A Damn Minute!” - an Alternative R&B Symphony broken into 4 movements, followed by the self-titled EP “DeShawn Jenkins" released in June of 202. Presently, DeShawn is continuously working on new music, and their Musical Short Film “Flight 1983, EST. (part 1 of a 4 part saga). DeShawn resides in New York with their partners and their beloved family of animals; 2 dogs, 1 cat and 2 guinea pigs.
