Brothers Lucas and Lion have been working together with childhood friend, Andi, as ROXOPOLIS since 2008. Originally rooted in reggae, the Essen trio continued to develop their eclectic indie sound with influences from Tame Impala, Cloud Nothings and The Police, gaining plenty of stage experience in over 200 performances. Always active in the (DIY/independent) scene, they released two self-produced EPs, “Simmer Down” (2016) and “Seasons” (2018). Their debut “The Storms Carry Me Home” emerged during a three-year process while traveling to St. Louis, Aarhus, Thessaloniki, Hamburg and time spent in their studio. The idea of the album was to build a bridge between personal experiences, character development and an awareness of global grievances. A great first taste of the album is provided by the live sessions that have already been released, recorded in an empty theater that was closed due to the pandemic. “The Storms Carry Me Home” will be released digitally and on vinyl on April 30th. This can be pre-ordered on the band’s website and at Bandcamp. „The Storms Carry Me Home“ - Pre-order album here - roxopolis.com/shop - or here - roxopolis.bandcamp.com/merch -
