Biography

The project was born from the meeting at the Capannina in Forte dei Marmi (a very famous Italian discoteque with live music) in the summer of 1981 between Dario Raimondi (a dj and musician), the Opera Madre music group and their vocalist Ivana Spagna. A close collaboration was immediately established at in order to be able to create and release pop-dance songs, a collaboration that will last for several decades and which will see the birth of numerous international hits such as Whigfield "Saturday Night", Ann Lee "Two Times", Benny Benassi "Satisfaction", In-Grid "Tu Es Foutu" and others. Within a few weeks, the first demo "Take Me To The Top" was produced with the help of very talented Italian arrangers and shift workers such as Davide Romani (bass player) and Paolo Gianolio (guitar player), already internationally famous for being part of the "Change" group (i.e. “A Lover’s Holiday”, “The Glow Of Love” & “Searching”), as well as qualified singers and backing vocalists as Linda Wesley and Van Patterson. At that point, a high-level interpreter was needed, so, after various researches, the choice fell on the Shakatak’svocalist Tracy Ackerman from London. The recording was made in Bologna at the famous Fonoprint Studio with the sound engineer Davide Biancani at the mixer.
