Mal B is from the small town of Denver, NC. Growing up, Mal spent most of her time at her gymnastics training center chasing an Olympic dream. At the age of 13, Mal found her love of music and talent for rapping and writing. Soon after, she made the decision to cut her gymnastics training from almost 30 hours a week to 6 so that she could pursue her new found passion. Mal's writing always centers around real life experiences and emotions. She describes writing and rapping as her outlet and her therapy. When asked about her music, Mal says, “I want to make music that actually says something, music that has a message, music that talks about real life”.
