Jamila is from Piauí (Brazil), but has lived in the state of Paraíba since she was a teenager, where she started composing in 2012. Coming from a family of singers, composers and visual artists, she already has worked with several famous musicians from the local scene. 
 “I am naked and raw in my compositions. I put my heart and soul into these songs without any filters" Musical references include traditional rhythms like coco de roda, o repente, forró, funk, maculelê, brega, batidão, axé, kizomba and pop, which develope a new character through modern timbres and beats. Jamila calls her sound world music, pop and spiritual pop.
