At the age of 16 Houston rapper Cokekane Novakane, born Christopher Javar Terry, was first introduced to music by a DJ who let him record a few verses. From then on He made it his mission to turn his passion into more than just a mere hobby, he sought to conquer the rap world. At 18 he mastered the art of free styling and released his first underground CD “All Work, No Play”. He sold 2000 units as an independent artist and gained a wide range of recognition. A Houston native, Novakane had been battling the love of hustling the streets and his love for music when the biggest responsibility of his life began. Like many underground musicians the street life took a toll. By the age of 21 Novakane put together his first debut album “Prince of the City”,which feat artists Houston’s own Lil Flip, Trae the Truth, Big Pokey and many more. Unfortunately his debut album never made it to the market due to management complications, disappointed, Novakane continued to push hard. At the age of 25 Novakane started to make headway in the underground music scene dropping numerous mixtapes such as “Certified: Volumes 1, 2 & 3” and “Don’t Mess with Alief” which feat artists such as Lil Flip, Big Hawk, Z-ro, 3-2, Mike D. Fast-forward To the age of 28, Novakane has become a household name. After a 3 year hiatus from music he is back stronger than ever. In partnership with Houston’s own Scarface, Novakane is back, disciplined and more determined than ever to become a living legend.
