art against agony is an international artist collective based in Germany, focussing on music, photography, videography & performance arts. Everyone in the collective is wearing masks and remains anonymous, because its part of our philosophy to promote art, and not our names, bodies or faces. We cherish all kinds of music, and we don't like to see ourselves limited by what people call "genres". The 'band' art against agony released its debut record Three Short Stories in 2014, followed by The Difference Between A Duck And A Lobster in 2016. Extensive touring have inspired the band's releases The Forgotten Story and Russian Tales in 2017. In 2018, the band has released their third album Shiva Appreciation Society with their new member and Indian 'mridangam' percussion player, the_maximalist. In 2019 they supported British progmetal band Haken on their summer European tour. The pandemic times saw the releases of the EPs Solanaceae, Reincarnation Suite and Джаз Умер. New additions of members, for example a Touchguitar player, produced the 2023 double LP-release Sound of Inevitability with Aralee Dorough (Houston Symphony) on Flute.
