Getting Used To You

Biography

Riley Burke is a 22-year-old singer-songwriter from Youngstown, OH. Inspired by classic rock, indie-pop, and folk, Riley’s songs are an eclectic arsenal of candid storytelling and heartfelt lyricism brought to life by her captivating voice and powerhouse band of Lance Batton, John Martin and Quentin Melnick. Riley grew up surrounded by music, having taken piano, dance and voice lessons throughout her childhood. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March of 2020, Riley, in the midst of her senior year of high school, turned to songwriting to cope with her feelings of loneliness. Songwriting became addictive, and when the world opened back up, Riley joined forces with her band. The songs she had written alone in her bedroom finally jumped off the page and took on the form she had only imagined for the past two years. Riley Burke Band has since played over 100 shows together, branching out from Youngstown into Kent, Akron, Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Riley Burke Band has become a prominent fixture in the Northeast Ohio music scene, having won the Summit FM sponsored Listeners’ Choice Award at Youngstown State University’s Federal Frenzy in 2022 and received Bronze in the Local Band category of the Youngstown Vindicator's 2023 Readers’ Choice Awards. By using her music to share her experiences of life as a young woman, Riley wants to encourage other girls to become involved in rock music as a way to heal from heartbreak and become empowered to celebrate their authentic voices.
