Biography

Having established an enviable reputation over the past twenty-five years, Sébastien Lépine is a Canadian artist with a remarkable background. A distinguished soloist, chamber musician, conductor and composer, he always pursues his art with an authentic passion that transpires through every note. Clearly, what sets Sébastien Lépine apart is his strong desire to breathe new life into classical music. Sébastien Lépine has successfully carried out various projects and released several recordings, garnering high praise from critics and audiences alike. The cellist has also given numerous performances all across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Italy, and France. In addition, many prestigious orchestras have invited him to guest as a soloist, including the Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières, the Camerata Orquesta of Bellas Artes of Mexico, the Chihuahua Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre de la Francophonie, the Appassionata chamber orchestra, and the Orchestre symphonique de Drummondville. Pupil of , among many, Janos Starker, his brilliant work has won him several prestigious awards and the dedication of a concerto by composer Gilles Bellemare.
