Born in Houston, Texas in 1986 and raised near the southwest side, Twank Star (born Christopher Scott) made his presence known in the early 2010s' southern hip-hop scene with his intelligent lyrics and witty delivery over synth lead, jazz-influenced backing tracks. Affiliated with T-Pain's label Nappy Boy, Twank began releasing online mixtapes in 2010. The Grey Area, a lucid 19-track mixtape filled with story lines and vivid imagery displayed Twank's growth as a lyricist, appeared in Fall of 2011 and significantly raised his profile and began to garner regional radio play for cuts "Clown" which detailed his emotions following a breakup and later the catchy tune "Deep Sea Diving" produced by Johnny Juliano. Twank began a tour with his band Wide Body that year and received national attention collaborating with Timothy Delaghetto of Wildin' Out and Youtube stardom on "So Far, So Good" and his spotlight stealing verse on "Break It Down". Twank then took a break from music to pursue education and enjoy family life. He returned with "Inside Looking Out" which displayed a brand new sonically-invested sound. The best example of this is the album's intro "The Bad Guy". The following year Twank returned with "The Glass House", an emotion driven tale of life's ups and downs. Since the pandemic began, Twank has released a slew of projects, starting with Eye Of The Gemini and EOG2. Pivot (Blow Your Mind) of the latter, was placed on the City soundtrack of NBA 2K21 Next Gen.
