Biography

A jangly guitar pop group with eight years already under their belt, Milwaukee's Jail got their big break when they signed a two-album deal with Sub Pop in November of 2009. With the new, more prominent label came a name change to Jaill (note the extra L) when it was discovered that another band shared their name. The sequel to their breakout success, There's No Sky (Oh My My) was planned for the following year. That's How We Burn, their first album recorded with outside help, was recorded in Milwaukee's Mystery Room studio with Justin Perkins and officially released in July 2010. Originally a trio, Jaill followed up the album with 2012's Traps before founding members Austin Dutmer and Andrew Harris departed, leaving Vincent Kircher to carry on alone. With a rebuilt lineup and a new label in the form of garage-centric Burger Records, Jaill re-emerged in 2015 with their fourth LP, Brain Cream. ~ Jason Lymangrover & Timothy Monger, Rovi
