Josep Maria Martí Duran started learning plucked string instruments after completing his classical guitar studies with Jordi Codina. Thus, he studied with Xavier Díaz-Latorre at ESMUC in Barcelona, with Massimiliano Toni in Novara, and with Eduardo Egüez at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in Zurich. Since the beginning, he has worked with important ensembles that specialize in early music, with whom he continues to collaborate regularly today; some of the most outstanding formations being Le Concert des Nations and Hespèrion XXI (dir. Jordi Savall), L'Arpeggiata (dir. Christina Pluhar), Early Opera Company (dir. Christian Curnyn), Cafe Zimmermann (dir. Pablo Valetti ), La Terza Pratica (dir. Massimiliano Toni) or Los Músicos de su Alteza (dir. Luis Antonio González), among others. In his intense concert career he has performed in the most prestigious venues around the world and has recorded on various occasions for stations such as France Musique, Radio France, RNE, BBC and Catalunya Ràdio; and the labels Warner Classics & Erato, SONY, etc... As a teacher he has taught master classes at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, the XIº Academy of the Capella Reial de Catalunya, directed by Jordi Savall, and at the Pôle des Arts Baroques, in Tolosa. https://josepmariamartiduran.com
