"Vozes da Rádio” are one of the great references of Portuguese music. Formed in 1991, in the city of Porto, they have always been characterized as a bipolar project. Sometimes their songs carry a charm and a velvety subtlety as well as an unusual harmony, sometimes they are hilarious exercises of worldly madness. Live, the songs take on a new dimension thanks to the skill of their performers and the moments between each song, reveal brilliant humorists in improvisation where anything, but everything, can happen. In their long history they have an impressive list of participation: António Zambujo, Rui Veloso, Ivan Lins, Sara Tavares, Gaiteiros de Lisboa, Delfins, Manuela Azevedo (Clã), Rui Reininho (GNR), Sérgio Godinho, Dany Silva, Arnaldo Antunes , Miguel Guedes (Blind Zero), Newmax (Expensive Soul), Peixe (Ornatos Violeta), Sérgio Castro (Trabalhadores do Comércio) and with Conjunto António Mafra for whom they even made a tribute album. With more than a dozen albums and hundreds of concerts all over the world, as well as a participation in a movie (O Barão - Edgar Pera), Vozes da Rádio is the most well-known Portuguese a cappella group.
