Josephine Network is the project of NY singer/songwriter and musician Josephine. Her music is a unique blend of pop and rock. Her debut album, Music is Easy (2020, Dig!) was described as “cozy and warm whilst taking you on a captivating voyage” (Rodeo Mag). The title track was featured on an episode of NPR’s This American Life. Josephine’s 2nd LP, No One’s Rose (2023, After The Fall) was more country-leaning. Brent Rademaker of Beachwood Sparks named it “the best country-pop album of 2023” (Shindig!). Josephine’s current live band contains members of Brower, SUO, and Dirty Fences. They were called “the quintessential NY bar band…then you accidentally hear enough of the lyrics and it changes your life” (Hell Gate). JN’s melodic and existential glitter rock led them to open for such notable acts as Sheer Mag, Christeene, Tchotchke, Joanna Sternberg, and The Paranoyds, and tour with legends Shannon & The Clams and The Lemon Twigs. By touring, JN amassed a European following. They played the Funtastic Dracula Carnival in Spain in 2022 and Menorca’s Cranc Festival in 2024. The new Tall Buildings EP (2024, House of Feelings) boasts 5 big tunes and an array of producers, with the title track produced by Sunflower Bean’s Olive Faber, “Static Walls” produced by The Lemon Twigs, and “Fat Doll” produced by Brower’s Josh Hahn. The EP is both colorful and honest, showcasing Josephine’s glamour, humor, and heart, with an extra dose of hard rock power that signals what’s to come.
