Biography

Ol ‘Bap is a rapper currently based in Guam. Born in 1997, Jacob ‘Ol ‘Bap’ Herazo was a military brat thus moving around the continental United States experiencing a multitude of different radio rotations during the 00’s. Primarily raised in New Jersey, he found a deep fondness for hip hop acts such as Odd Future, Wu Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest, Danny Brown, and J Cole which influenced to start writing raps himself. He describes his style as an echo chamber of his influences. Moving to Guam at 17, the rapper became more attached to the hip hop culture he was so fond of thru the internet. Within the following years, he started pursuing music seriously by recording himself, attending open mics and becoming heavily influenced by the punk rock local music environment he was surrounded with (S/O to Okas Point, Dogs in Dededo, 83Books, and Matala). He met Nouga Jr., Scott Lafleur, and Kamado in 2018 which bolstered Ol ‘Bap’s alternative rap style even more. Ol ‘Bap is currently gearing up for major releases in 2021.
