One of the most significant voices in Polish jazz, composer and lyricist Dorota Miśkiewicz, has released eight albums, many of which have been nominated to Fryderyk, the most prestigious prize of the Polish recording industry. She herself has repeatedly been honoured with the title of Vocalist of the Year in the annual ranking of Jazz Forum magazine. Her latest album, "Bons Amigos," recorded with the icon of Latin Jazz, Brazilian guitarist Toninho Horta, was released in September 2023. In her heart and by training a violinist, daughter of the famous saxophonist, Henryk Miśkiewicz, she has lost count of the collaborations to which other artists have invited her. She is one of the few to have sung and recorded duets with Cesaria Evora, and their joint song “Um Pincelada” was very favourably received by music lovers all around the world. She has worked with Nigel Kennedy, Stefano Bollani, David Murray, Louis Winsberg, Kepa Junkera, Tomasz Stańko, Grzegorz Turnau, and a constellation of artists from the Polish music scene. With jazz as her mainstay, she eagerly comes out into the high seas of experimentation, whether exotic or closer to Polish shores.
